The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) seeks to broaden the types of knowledge, skills, expertise, experience, and perspectives brought to bear in research addressing the ethical, legal and social implications (ELSI) of advances in human genetics or genomics. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) solicits UM1 applications from domestic organizations located in the United States and its territories that received less than $30 million per year in total NIH funding for the past three fiscal years. These organizations are underrepresented among those receiving NHGRI funding for ELSI research. The Building Partnerships and Broadening Perspectives to Advance Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI) Research (BPAER) Program will support: 1) transdisciplinary ELSI research addressing timely, complex, and understudied topics, 2) the establishment of research teams that include representatives from relevant communities who are affected by and have an interest in the proposed research, 3) research capacity building to develop, conduct and sustain ELSI research, and 4) workforce development opportunities for early career scholars, research team members, and other research project staff. Transdisciplinary ELSI research projects require involvement from two or more fields of knowledge and use of multiple research approaches. Relevant communities must be actively and meaningfully involved on ELSI research teams across all phases of proposed research projects. Research capacity building plans must be informed by a needs assessment. Given the complex structure, a strategic management plan, evaluation plan, and sustainability plan are required to ensure successful completion of the program.

Centers for Disease Control - NCCDPHP

In collaboration with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state and federally funded programs, you will implement a project focused on reducing chronic disease rates within a defined geographic area within four communities: Lake County, Indiana; Sandusky and Toledo metro area, Ohio; Brownsville, Texas; Petersburg, Virginia. The goal is to demonstrate how individual and system-level interventions can encourage healthier habits and choices that can reduce the burden of chronic disease in children. When these lifestyle and community changes are maintained over time, reductions in the burden of chronic diseases among adults in the United States may eventually result.Findings from these demonstration programs will inform the potential replication of successful interventions in additional communities.Additionally, HHS will use findings from this demonstration project to inform future approaches to funding and measuring effects of novel efforts to improve health for individuals and communities.

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to create a single, coordinated national training center that provides comprehensive TTA to Title X grant recipients and their networks of sub-recipients and service sites. Title X currently operates through a large and diverse network of more than 3,800 service sites who provide Title X services to close to 3 million low-income individuals annually, and these providers rely on consistent, high-quality support to meet statutory and regulatory requirements and OASH and OPA priorities.

OPA plans to solicit applications for projects to carry out evaluations of teen pregnancy prevention (TPP) approaches that would make significant contributions to preventing teen pregnancy. OPA intends to make available an estimated $2.2 million for up to nine (9) grant awards for a period of up to three (3) years. OPA will consider evaluation projects that explore new questions in teen pregnancy prevention that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of these programs and services. These grants are for projects that can be conducted within two to three years, such as secondary data analyses or research using existing program and evaluation data, research, or administrative data.

This notice solicits applications for practical, data-driven, and scalable projects that support States, Tribal communities, healthcare systems, or community-based organizations in collecting, analyzing, and reporting information related to access to medical forensic examinations for women and girl survivors of sexual assault. Projects funded under this initiative should identify barriers, service gaps, workforce shortages, geographic gaps, wait times, and system-level challenges impacting women and girl survivor access to timely, forensic healthcare services.

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) Office on Women's Health (OWH) announces the anticipated availability of funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 grants under the authority of section 229 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act (42 U.S.C. § 237a), section 1703(a) of the PHS Act (42 U.S.C. § 300u-2(a)), and all of the authorities under Title XVII of the Public Health Service Act, as amended, pertaining to the mission of the Office on Women's Health." 73 Fed. Reg. 62995 (Oct 2008).This notice solicits applications from organizations with demonstrated experience in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of reproductive health conditions, which may include polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS, formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome or PCOS), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), reproductive-age endocrine disorders, or recurrent miscarriage. Through this cooperative agreement, selected organizations will be recognized and elevated as a Center of Excellence, building on their existing expertise to strengthen the translation of evidence into practice, enhance and standardize root-cause care pathways, expand workforce training, and improve health outcomes for women. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages joint applications for the Global Infectious Disease (GID) Research Training programs from U.S. and low- and middle-income country (LMIC) institutions. The application should propose a collaborative training program that will strengthen the capacity of a LMIC institution to conduct infectious disease research. FIC will support research-training programs that focus on major endemic or life-threatening emerging infectious diseases, neglected tropical diseases, infections that frequently occur as co-infections in HIV infected individuals or infections associated with non-communicable disease conditions of public health importance in LMICs. Training related to prevention, treatment or public health approaches to any technical area of basic, epidemiology, clinical, behavioral or social science health research may be supported. Research Training programs should incorporate didactic, mentored research and career development skills components to prepare individuals for careers that will have significant impact on the priority health research needs of LMICs. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) allows support of [trainees] as the lead investigator of an independent clinical trial; or a separate ancillary clinical trial or proposing to gain research experience in a clinical trial led by another investigator, as part of their research and career development.

The purpose of the Small Health Care Provider Quality Improvement Program is to strengthen the quality improvement culture in small rural healthcare facilities by building capacity to effectively collect and use clinical data while implementing evidence-based approaches to improve health care quality with a particular focus on improving chronic disease outcomes. Additionally, the program strengthens the skills and collaboration of the billing and coding staff in coordination with the front-line clinical staff. By creating a sustainable quality improvement capacity in small hospitals and clinics, these facilities will be better positioned to take part in value-based care models while also enhancing health care status for their patients.

In response to a longstanding congressional mandate (P.L. 98-619, Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies Appropriation Act, 1985), NIMHD invites applications from eligible institutions to establish a national coordinating center (CC) for the Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMIs) initiative. The RCMI CC will coordinate activities across funded RCMI U54 Centers, prospectively evaluate the overall RCMI program, and serve as a national resource to help these centers achieve their primary goals. The RCMI CC will be responsive to requests generated by RCMI site key personnel, NIMHD, NIH, the scientific community, and the general public.

The Delta States Rural Development Network Program supports support the planning, development, and implementation of integrated health care networks that collaborate in order to (i) achieve efficiencies; (ii) expand access to, coordinate, and improve the quality of basic health care services and associated health outcomes in rural areas within the eight rural Mississippi Delta Region states (Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee); and (iii) strengthen the rural health care system as a whole.

The purpose of this NOFO is to continue strengthening Uganda"s capacities for rapid detection and effective and efficient response to health threats. The focus of this NOFO is based on gaps outlined by the 2023 Joint External Evaluation of Uganda"s Global Health Security capacities including but not limited to surveillance, laboratory, rapid response, and countermeasures for priority human and zoonotic diseases, water- multi-hazard multi-sectoral preparedness in connection with Uganda"s National Action Plan for Health Security. Support national legislation for, and operationalization of functional, real-time funding for health emergencies - establishing a national border health program-rolling out a functional electronic platform expanding the National Integrated Surveillance System (NISS) linking surveillance, laboratory, notification, emergency responses, reporting, and workforce tracking data related to human and zoonotic priority diseases.
