Blueprint Neurotherapeutics Network (BPN): Small Molecule Drug Discovery and Development of Disorders of the Nervous System (UG3/UH3 Clinical Trial Optional)

The Blueprint Neurotherapeutics Network (BPN) invites applications from neuroscience investigators seeking support to advance their small molecule drug discovery and development projects into the clinic. Participants in the BPN are responsible for conducting all studies that involve disease- or target-specific assays, models, and other research tools and receive funding for all activities to be conducted in their own laboratories. In addition, applicants will collaborate with NIH-funded consultants and can augment their project with NIH contract research organizations (CROs) that specialize in medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, formulations development, chemical synthesis including under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Phase I clinical testing. Projects can enter either at the Discovery stage, to optimize promising hit compounds through medicinal chemistry to the Development stage, to advance a single development candidate through Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling toxicology studies and phase I clinical testing. Alternatively, projects can enter at the Development stage and progress in a shorter period to IND enabling toxicology studies and phase I clinical testing. BPN awardee Institutions retain their assignment of IP rights and gain assignment of IP rights from the BPN contractors (and thereby control the patent prosecution and licensing negotiations) for drug candidates developed in this program.

The Decision, Risk and Management Sciences Program (DRMS) supports scientific research directed at increasing understanding and effectiveness of decision making by individuals, groups, organizations and society. DRMS supports research with solid foundations in theories and methods of the social and behavioral sciences. This social and behavioral science research should advance knowledge, address fundamental scientific and societal issues and have strong broader impacts. DRMS funds disciplinary and interdisciplinary research, doctoral dissertation research improvement grants (DDRIGs) and conferences in the following areas: judgment and decision making; decision analysis and decision aids; risk analysis, perception and communication; societal and public-policy decision making; management science and organizational design. The program supports the use of the RAPID funding mechanism for research that involves ephemeral data, typically tied to disasters or other unanticipated events. Much less frequently, the program also supports highly unusual, proof-of-concept, high-risk projects that are potentially transformational (Early Concept Grants for Exploratory Research &ndash; EAGER). Personal Responsibility Education Innovative Strategies (PREIS)

The Personal Responsibility Education Program-Innovative Strategies (PREIS) builds the evidence base for adolescent pregnancy prevention interventions that are effective with high risk and vulnerable youth populations and addresses gaps with new promising program models. PREIS funds rigorous impact evaluations of innovative youth pregnancy prevention interventions that target services to high-risk, vulnerable, and culturally under-represented youth populations, including youth in foster care/child welfare settings, juvenile justice, victims of trafficking, youth who have runaway or experience homelessness, youth with HIV/AIDS, expectant youth who are under 21 years of age and their partners, parenting youth who are under 21 years of age and their partners, and youth residing in areas with high birth rates for youth. Projects must implement at least three of the six congressionally mandated adulthood preparation subjects (APS) which include: 1) healthy relationships, 2) adolescent development, 3) financial literacy, 4) parent-child communication, 5) educational and career success, and 6) healthy life skills. Projects are required to conduct rigorous impact evaluations (randomized controlled trials or quasi-experimental design studies with assignment to treatment or control group). PREIS evaluations must be conducted by an independent, third-party evaluator.Interventions to be evaluated under this funding opportunity are expected to have compelling, positive preliminary evidence from previous research, but have not been evaluated through a randomized control trial or quasi-experimental design. Interventions must have a well-described theory of change, with intervention materials already developed.

GameON U.S.-Albania E-Sports and Innovation

U.S. Mission to Albania

1. Project Background, Goals, and Objectives Albania's youth face a rapidly evolving digital economy that demands advanced technical skills, entrepreneurial mindsets, and exposure to international industry standards. Albanian interest in gaming a global market forecasted to surpass $745 billion by 2030, in which the United States is leading is high, presenting an opportunity to increase Albanian understanding of how U.S. economic strength and technological leadership support shared prosperity. By providing youth access to high-quality, structured training in coding, game design, and digital entrepreneurship, this program strengthens Albanian youths association between the United States and innovation, creativity, and opportunity; demonstrates the United States capacity to adapt and lead in a burgeoning tech market; and increases interest in U.S. products, technology, and brands. As a global, web-based arena for exchange, the gaming market also presents opportunities to promote digital freedom increases the durability and reach of U.S. narratives beyond official channels. This program will further those efforts by prioritizing American standards and values in online game development. Include information of past projects. How will this project build on previous efforts? What kinds of programming has the Mission and other partners funded in the past to address this problem? Which activities have worked well (best practices), and which activities have not (lessons learned)? This program capitalizes on a popular past U.S. Speaker Program on game development and an established network of partners in the local tech, business, and education community. It also complements ongoing programs in cybersecurity and AI training to promote American technology across an array of emerging fields. All activities must demonstrate strong connections to U.S. expertise, technology, and best practices, clearly explaining how these ties support program objectives and advance U.S. interests. Examples include: use of U.S.-developed game engines, coding platforms, and e-sports platforms; curriculum informed by U.S. industry standards and educational models; guest speakers or mentors from U.S. tech companies, universities, or entrepreneurial ecosystems, or alumni of the Department of State exchanges who serve as credible validators of American innovation; and exposure to U.S. startup methodologies and business frameworks. Proposals should articulate how these connections will deliver results-driven programming that builds lifelong skills, increases participants receptivity to U.S. technologies, expands demand for American products and services, and creates alumni networks that amplify U.S. leadership in the digital economy. Project Audience: Youth aged 15-30, including high school and university students, young professionals, and aspiring tech entrepreneurs and creators interested in e sports, gaming, and digital innovation. Project Goal: Strengthen Albania s digital ecosystem by using U.S. technology, standards, and expertise to build practical skills in coding, game design, and digital entrepreneurship, while showcasing U.S. leadership in the digital economy through e sports and game development. Project Objectives: The project should engage at least 100 participants per Corner in e-sports and game development that build practical tech skills, foster teamwork and entrepreneurship, and deepn understanding of U.S. leadership in the digital economy. At a minimum, projects should address the following objectives: Objective 1 Applied Game and Interactive Media Skills Develop participants practical skills in coding, game design, basic UX/UI, and digital content creation, 3D printing, through project based learning that uses U.S. tools, platforms, and industry best practices. Objective 2 Smart Digital Skills and Startup Mindset Strengthen participants digital skills to use game development to foster creative problem solving and innovation while introducing basic concepts of tech, innovation, entrepreneurship, project management, and monetization in the gaming and digital sectors. Objective 3 Collaborative Competition and U.S. Tech Exposure Use e sports and team based projects to build collaboration, fair play, and leadership, while exposing participants to U.S. digital industry standards, role models, and opportunities.

<p>The U.S. Department of State’s U.S. Consulate General Lagos announces an open competition to implement a program to increase two-way trade and investment between the United States and Nigeria by building commercial relationships, professional knowledge, legal infrastructure, and institutional connections that enable U.S. companies and Nigerian creative/digital professionals to partner and grow together.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>This Annual Program Statement (APS) is issued under the Consulate's commercial diplomacy mandate to generate measurable economic benefit for U.S. companies, support U.S. jobs, and expand market opportunities for Nigerian creative and innovation economy professionals across seven priority themes: </p><p><br></p><p>(1) Intellectual Property Infrastructure; </p><p>(2) Exchange Alumni Network Activation; </p><p>(3) Streaming, Digital Rights, and Platform Monetization; </p><p>(4) Co-Production and Market Access — Film, Music, Fashion; </p><p>(5) U.S. Education Access and Tech Credentialing; </p><p>(6) Gaming, Sports Business, and Emerging Tech; and </p><p>(7) Content Creation for U.S. Social Media Platforms and AI Tools.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Target audiences include Nigerian creative and tech professionals; entrepreneurs; exchange program alumni; university faculty; and U.S. companies in streaming, entertainment law, fashion, venture capital, and AI seeking Nigerian partnerships and talent.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>This program strengthens U.S.-Nigeria commercial ties, positions U.S. companies to benefit from Nigeria's dynamic creative economy, and leverages public diplomacy assets in southern Nigeria, including 8,000 exchange alumni and 15 American Spaces as instruments of economic engagement generating opportunity on both sides of the Atlantic.</p>
