Eligibility
- SNAP program eligibility is determined by several factors, including income level, type of income, household size, age, disability, utility/housing expenses, and more. SNAP recipients aged 16-60 who are unemployed and do not qualify for an exemption may participate in an E&T program as part of satisfying SNAP work requirements to receive benefits. SNAP recipients between 18-50 years old who are physically able to work but unemployed and without children are classified as Able-Bodied Adults without Dependents (ABAWD) unless they meet an exemption. ABAWDs cannot receive SNAP benefits for more than three months out of a 36-month period unless they are working or participating in a E&T program for at least 20 hours per week (this can be waived in certain areas of high unemployment).
