Support to Local Capacity-Building and Emergency Response Efforts in Syria
About This Grant
OFDA s mandate is to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the social and economic impact of disasters worldwide. In order to achieve this goal, USAID/OFDA seeks to fund one or more organization(s) to support the development of local humanitarian organizations operating inside Syria and strengthen their ability to implement successful disaster response activities in conflict-affected communities. This funding opportunity has two distinct but inter-related objectives:Objective 1: Provide local organizations with the ability to strengthen their technical, management, and programmatic skills, to increase the quality of their internal operations and their standards of work on the ground, and; Objective 2: Through small scale grants, support local NGOs in responding to emergency needs throughout Syria.Under this APS, OFDA will consider applications for the establishment of a capacity-building program to strengthen the organizational capacity of local organizations and an umbrella mechanism whereby sub-awardees can address the urgent humanitarian needs of populations affected by the conflict. For detailed information on the program and the application requirements, please review the entire full announcement of APS-OFDA-15-000001.
