Equinox Rising Project

Equinox Rising is a showcase highlighting LGBTQI artists who bring their vibrant musicality to create a platform of visibility and affirmation in Seattle. Singer- songwriters of different genres will come together in a rare opportunity to share their talents, all of whom identify as LGBTQI, people of color and/or people with chronic illness and disability. This showcase will be a free, all-ages event on March 17, 2018 at the Massive Monkees Studio, The Beacon, located in the International District. It is featuring an exciting lineup of local and visiting musicians.

Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange

Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange will purchase and install equipment that will allow the KMGP 101.1 radio station to provide free community programming. The programming and production equipment will be installed within Warren G. Magnuson Park at 7400 Sand Point Way NE and the station's antenna will be installed at the University of Washington's McMahon Hall located at 4249 Whitman Court. Planning and installation activities will occur during the summer of 2017.

Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle will be making repairs to the Eritrean Association's Community Center, located at 1954 S. Massachusetts St. The center is a vital hub for cultural activities and other community gatherings for the Eritrean community, the broader immigrant/refugee community, and surrounding neighbors. This project, will improve the Community Center by repairing issues in the parking lot and main hall. There will be a tree removal, concrete and fencing repair, 2) address drainage issues, regrading and asphalting, and 3) replacement of exit gate. There will also be window replacement in the main hall, surface repairs and repainting. These improvements will keep the community space safe and in working order for community use. This project will be completed by late fall 2022.

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle located at 1954 S Massachusetts will with this project make improvements to the facility that includes replacing the parking lot exit gate, repainting interior walls of the entry way, and strip and wax the floors of the large hall. The improvements are vital to the community as it will keep a unique community space safe in working order for community events, civic engagement activities, and food and nutrition programs.

The Eritrean Association's Community Center located at 1954 South Massachusetts St is a vital hub for cultural activities and other community gatherings for the Eritrean community. This project, plans to improve their Community Center's large hall by replacing the existing HVAC system. This project is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2021.

This event is the celebration of the 40 year legacy of the Eritrean Community Center (ECC) and those that have dedicated their lives to the growth and sustainability of our community. As a community center built by its members, the foundation of ECC is a network of families supporting families while contributing to our Central District community. We are a nonprofit organization created to assist those that have immigrated to the United States with both cultural connectivity and a gamut of necessities to sustain their livelihood. Oftentimes our community members battle harrowing life events to reach the US and our role is to create a safe space while connecting community with the resources they wouldn't have had access to otherwise. This event will honor our members that have passed away and those that are with us today.

This project is vital to the community as it will keep a unique community space safe in working order for community events, civic engagement activities, and food and nutrition programs. The project will be completed in late fall of 2025.

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle will construct improvements to the Eritrean Association Community Center located at 1954 South Massachusetts Ave., including remodel of an outdoor community gathering area and improvements to the center's large hall. These improvements will make the Center's facility, including indoor and outdoor spaces, an inviting venue for community events and educational activities. The center is a vital hub for cultural activities and other community gatherings for the Eritrean community, the broader immigrant/refugee community, and surrounding neighbors.

Upgrade outdated computers in the Technology Learning Center and offer basic and professional computer skills and Tigrinya language training (GEEZ) to 150 Eritrean families.

Eritrean immigrants and refugees will learn basic computer and Internet skills and utilize Geez language software and web-based resources. The grant will enable upgrades to computer workstations.

Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle

The Eritrean Association of Greater Seattle will organize an Eritrean Independence Day Celebration at Seward Park on May 25, 2019. The family-friendly event will feature Eritrean singers and musicians, local Eritrean children and youth performing traditional dances, poetry readings, drama, and a showcase of visual arts. There will be a soccer tournament the preceding weekend, May 18-19. Several thousand people are expected to attend the festival and tournament.
