About This Grant
-Purpose. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites grant applications for studies that focus on research to define factors affecting energy balance and to define mechanisms influencing cancer risk, prognosis, and quality of life. This FOA will utilize the R01 grant mechanism and runs in parallel with an FOA of identical scientific scope, PA-06-405, that solicits applications under the NIH Exploratory/Developmental Grant (R21) mechanism. Competitive supplement applications to existing NCI-funded R01, P01, P30, or U01 grants as well as new R01 applications are invited in response to this FOA. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
