-Purpose. This FOA will utilize the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) grant mechanism, Applications of related or identical scientific scope are also solicited under the NIH Small Research Grant (R03), the NIH Exploratory/Developmental Grant (R21), and the NIMH Clinical Exploratory Research Grant (R34) grant mechanisms, responding to FOAs PA-06-180, PA-06-181, and PAR-06-248, respectively. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Because the nature and scope of the proposed research will vary from application to application, it is anticipated that the size and duration of each award will also vary.
