About This Grant

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to The purpose of the award is provide the Recipient with the necessary funding to facilitate Florida grasshopper sparrow (Ammodramus savannarum floridanus) research and conservation management by funding (through subcontracts) urgent projects as they are realized and developed. The overarching purpose of this project is to maximize the potential for preventing the extinction of FGSP while employing multiple recovery actions to stabilize and grow the wild population. This flexibility is crucial in our efforts to prevent the extinction of this species through actions on multiple fronts. The WFF is uniquely qualified to administer this project because they manage funds to be used for endangered species research, conservation and recovery, and habitat restoration. The Recipient has worked cooperatively with state and federal partners on Florida grasshopper sparrow projects and other federally-listed species in the recent past.
