About This Grant
The purpose of this Oral History Project is to capture the stories of descendant families identified in the L Hermitage Genealogical Study completed in 2016. This research will further baseline documentation identifying traditionally associated communities, contemporary communities, and communities of interest. The project will be supported by previous archeological documenting the home and plantation operated but the Vincendiere family and labored by 90 enslaved people in the 19th century. This project will directly impact accurate and current interpretation and education at Monocacy National Battlefield.
