Beacon Arts

We seek funds to help pay rental of El Centro de la Raza's Centilia Room and Plaza for use at 4 Beacon Arts Street Fairs June 8, July 13, August 10 & Sept 14th 2024. We have had multiple requests for community dances. Centilia will be used to launch that project at the Street Fairs. Local professional dance teachers and facilitators will lead 4 sessions per day of interactive dance instruction in multiple disciplines and cultural traditions. Centilia first available June 8th. This adds dance to our inclusive, accessible neighborhood celebrations of community interests, accomplishments and local color. Each month features, art market, Garden Share, entertainment and information about projects in our community. Garden Share will be on Maestas Plaza and give away seeds and plants for food sustainability and beautification. BA has Street permits, provide liability insurance, funds and equipment. We partner with many local organizations to entertain and enlighten our neighbors.

Beacon Arts

Beacon Arts will be hosting the Harvest celebration on Roberto Maestas Festival Street, Saturday, Sept 11, 10am-2pm. Beacon Arts wants to celebrate the success of the food security project and the safe reopening of the community. The Fair will take place outside The Station Coffee Shop on 16th Ave and Roberto Maestas Festival Street. Club and community members bring plants they have grown to give away to anyone who can grow them and find plants they might need. There will be information tables, local artists, vendors and entertainment. It is free and open to all.

Beacon Arts

We are seeking funds to be able to pay local professional performers to entertain at the Beacon Arts Street Fairs. The festival starts on April 9th but the Small Sparks fund will pay for entertainment from May to September on the second Saturday of each month. The festival will be held on Roberto Maestas Festival Street and El Centro de la Raza grounds and Plaza. The anticipated project completion date is October 31, 2022.
