Belltown Art Walk

The Belltown Artwalk community group will be hosting an art exhibit located at the Slip Galley 2301 1st Ave on Jan 10, 2025. The exhibit will feature four artist as they delve into themes of self perception, identity, and the complexities of internal dialogue. Through curated pieces that explore the fluid and often distorted boundaries between mind, body, and self, viewers are invited into deeply personal reflections. The show will also hosts two free public workshops aimed at fostering introspection and self-expression. The event is free and open to the public.

Filipino Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest

The Filipino Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest would like to host a Jazz festival at the Jose Rizal Park on Beacon Hill located on 12th Avenue South on August 11th, to share information about who Jose Rizal is and his contributions to Filipino history. This is a free and open event for all the community to enjoy.

Associated Recreation Council

The Associated Recreation Council in partnership with the Green Lake Advisory Council is hosting its 43rd Annual Pathway of Lights free public event around Green Lake on Saturday December 14, 2019 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. This event has become a celebrated community tradition. Just before the dark days of Fall give way to Winter, Green Lake is transformed into a radiant, sparkling oasis. This year hot air balloons will be set up at dusk and inflated as if they are going to take off, but instead of being allowed to ascend they are tethered to the ground by crews. The balloons glow like huge light bulbs or lanterns, giving a spectacular display for Pathway of Lights visitors. This project will be completed by February 28, 2020.

Friends of 42nd & Garfield

Friends of 42nd & Garfield would like to re-landscape a 20 year old traffic circle after years of neglect and abuse. The traffic circle is located at 42nd Avenue East and East Garfield Street. Plant removal & prep work has been completed and the group would like to apply for a Small Sparks Fund grant to begin Winter soil & planting installation. Site prep for new plants to begin in January and the end in March.

Friends of Picardo Farms P-patch

The Friends of Picardo Farms P-Patch will organize an annual Harvest Banquet on Sunday, September 16, 4-6pm, at the Picardo Farm P-Patch, 8040 NE 82nd St. This will also be a celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the Seattle P-Patch Program. Free and open to the public, the banquet will feature a potluck supper, music, tours, and other fun activities.

Steering Committee

The one day 7 on 7 showcase will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Judkins Park, 2100 South Norman Street, from 10am to 2pm. The (C.A.M.P) Conditioning Advancement Mentoring Partnership project is dedicated to finding innovative ways to inspire and motivate African American youth to achieve success by developing a healthy active lifestyle and enhancing their decision making skills. Key activities will focus on team building, fitness and decision making.

Rainier Arts Center

In the second edition of the 98118 Fest, we propose to center community partnership while building on our over forty years of experience in live outdoor events. 98118 Fest will take place on August 22, 2026, 12pm-6pm at Columbia Park, located at 3515 S Alaska St, Seattle WA, our community’s “living room,” and at Rainier Arts Center. The festival will showcase performances from a mix of world music and local artists. A pop-up gallery will create opportunities for local artists to sell their work. We will provide soccer- and art-themed activities for kids and families, including face painting, art making, and games. The event will be free and open to the public.

First Hill Improvement Association

In Phase 2, the First Hill Improvement Association will continue working with Site Workshop (consultant), Parks, and DoN to lead the community through final design and construction documentation for improvements to First Hill Park. This phase of work will build off of the approved Phase 1 concept plan.

Admiral Neighborhood Association

We intend to promote and produce a series of 3 weekly concerts at 3 different Admiral neighborhood parks which will be open and free for everyone. The concerts will be held on Thursday evenings July 18th, 25th, and August 1st from about 6:30pm - 8:30 pm and will feature a different musical artist or band for each evening.

Grants to museums, libraries, and cultural organizations to build capacity for preserving and sharing African American history and culture.

Administration for Community Living

Grants for supportive services, respite care, and evidence-based interventions for persons with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and their caregivers.

AmeriCorps

Grants to organizations to engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions addressing community needs in education, health, environment, economic opportunity, and disaster services.

AmeriCorps

Full-time volunteers serving at nonprofit organizations and public agencies to build organizational capacity and address poverty through indirect service.

Sisters of South Seattle

Sister of South Seattle Community Advocacy group would like to host a series of three workshops at the Hillman City Collaboratory starting September 18, 2019. The main goal of the workshops is to open the space for the community to talk about racism, gentrification, and spirituality through an African-American lens. During the workshops people will have the opportunity to share poetry/film, and discussion, led by renowned Black poet Amir Sulaiman. Food and drinks will be provided to all. The series of workshops are free and open to the public.

Art + Culture Week

Art + Culture Week 2025 (Sept 20–27) is a citywide celebration transforming Seattle’s neighborhoods into hubs of creative expression. This free, public event brings together museums, galleries, and performance spaces for a week of artist talks, workshops, interdisciplinary performances, and community-centered experiences that expand access to the arts. The Opening event at King Street Station located at 303 S Jackson St Seattle WA will be held on September 19, 2025 from 4:30 -7:30pm.

InterIm CDA

InterIm Community Development Association and the Danny Woo Art Wall Steering Committee has selected an artist to develop a site integrated, community-based public art piece to be located on the retaining wall along the north side of S. Main Street outside the Danny Woo Community Garden entrance. The art piece will be installed on a concrete retaining wall, which is divided into panels with steel beams. The art piece has been funded to be at least 10 panels long. Additional funding, will allow us to extend the art along additional panels and add lighting. This project will be completed by December 31, 2018.

West Seattle Junction Association

The West Seattle Junction Association will add fully-interactive kids arts and music art areas to Harvest Festival and Hometown Holidays at Junction Plaza Park located at 4545 42nd AVe SW. Art project for Harvest Festival is on Sunday, October 27th 10 AM to 2 PM. Art project for Hometown Holidays is Saturday, December 8th 3PM to 7PM.

Mixed Pantry's Art space project

The Kitchen Art Space will serve as a vibrant hub of cultural exchange for fostering communities, particularly among BIPOC artists in Seattle. This unique enclave amplifies their presence, offering an intimate look into the diverse culture of Asian and Asian American communities, and through the power of free public art, the space aims to foster social inclusivity and mutual understanding. Our exhibits and programs are designed to provoke thoughtful dialogue, spotlighting local artists in synergy with the Mixed Pantry's store space, the Art Space manifests as a crucible where art and culinary flavors unite, and the celebration of Asian diversity springs to life. It is here that we build a tapestry of communal connections, and carve out spaces where everyone?regardless of their background? Feels seen, heard and valued just by walking along 1st avenue. Chinatown-International District Exhibit Committee

The Chinatown-International District Exhibit Committee's COVID-19 Exhibit will educate the public about the effects of COVID-19 on Asian Pacific Islander Americans in the Chinatown-International District through a free digital exhibit of art, personal stories, and artifacts. This project is a partnership with the Wing Luke Museum located at 719 S King Street. This project will be completed by December 31,2021.

Grants to fire departments and nonaffiliated EMS organizations for equipment, training, fitness, and fire prevention programs.

Administration for Community Living

Formula grants to states for assistive technology device demonstrations, lending, reutilization, and state financing activities for people with disabilities.

Sustainable Ballard

Sustainable Ballard will establish a tool library in Ballard at 7549B 15th Avenue NW by January 2018. The Tool Library will promote self-resiliency, stewardship, sustainability and fair sharing of community resources.

Beacon Hill Hub

The Beacon Hill Hub will host a Business Fair on Saturday, November 9, 2019, from 12 noon to 4:00 PM at 6020 Beacon Avenue South. The goal of the project is to showcase the diversity of goods and services available on Beacon Hill. There will be activities for participants of all ages.

Beacon Hill Council of Seattle

North Beacon Hill Council and partner organizations are developing an online survey to poll residents regarding: a) the proposal to double the Beacon Hill urban village size in the Seattle 2035 Comprehensive Plan Update, b) the continued commitment to the 2010 Neighborhood Plan goals and c) other local issues. The DON Small and Simple grant will fund the translation, distribution and associated events to reach the 44% foreign born population who are non-English or limited English speaking.
