Project Orca Playground

Project Orca Playground will install play equipment, native plantings, interpretive signage and other improvements to the outdoor play area and rain garden at the Orca K-8 public school. The new play equipment will benefit kids in the neighborhood, and the rain garden plantings and interpretive signs will provide community environmental education.

Oromo Cultural Center

The Oromo Cultural Center will be hosting basic computer training project located at 8817 Renton Ave S to provide immigrants with the skills and knowledge to effectively use computers in their personal and professional lives. The project will offer basic computer training that include instruction on computer hardware, software, and basic digital literacy skills. The program is designed to be culturally responsive and relevant to the needs and experiences of immigrant communities. The project will be free and open to community participation.

Beacon Hill Hub

Phase 1 of the Beacon Hill Hub Project is outreach and community planning to get current input to guide final programming and design of the Beacon Hill Hub building. Four charrettes will obtain input on a multiservice venue, a neighborhood presence residents say will be unique for people of color in South Beacon Hill.

Center for Linguistic and Cultural Democracy

The center for Linguistic and Cultural Democracy will have an event a pan-Caribbean, family oriented, arts and cultural event on the message of restoring and strengthening the ocean. The project would like to engage our local Caribbean communities and all who are interested -- in storytelling in our culturally responsive, art-based ways.

Seattle Adaptive Sports

Seattle Adaptive Sports is hosting a large adaptive sports clinic on Saturday, June 15th from 8am to 4pm at Rainier Beach Community Center located at 8825 Rainier Avenue South. There will be multiple adaptive sports to have hands-on experiences as well as watch athletes currently involved in these sports. Attendees will also find information about resources in the community for recreation, employment support, independent living skills, healthcare, and advocacy.

Green Lake & Wallingford Safe Streets

The Green Lake & Wallingford Safe Streets group will organize two activities that celebrate PARK(ing) Day and promote street safety for all modes of transportation. Both events will be held on September 21, 2018 from 10 am - 4 pm. They will be held on E Green Lake Dr at NE 71st St and on Green Lake Way N at Stone Way N.

The Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program is the USFWS’s lead program for working with private landowners to voluntarily restore and conserve fish and wildlife habitat. Using non-regulatory incentives, the Partners Program engages willing partners to conserve and protect valuable fish and wildlife habitat on their property and in their communities. This is accomplished by providing the funding, technical, and planning assistance needed to make on-the-ground conservation affordable, feasible, and effective.

OCA Asian Pacific Advocates of Greater Seattle

This project will convert the 2019 `Gum Saan to Golden Spike` (GS2) film to a comic novella like ?In a Yellow Tone? (IYT), a sequel to GS2. The project will also add an IYT sequel, `King-DOOM: How AAPI Protestors saved Chinatown,` focusing on the AAPI protest 50 years ago against the Kingdome encroachment, leading to the creation of many Chinatown ID (CID) agencies. To combat ignorance, foster pride and fight hate, completing this trilogy explains/affirms the continuing story of AAPI in Seattle. The anticipated project completion date is December 31, 2022.

Green Lake Advisory Council

The Green Lake Advisory Council is hosting its 47th annual Pathway of Lights at Green Lake located at 7201 East Green Lake Dr N Seattle WA on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 4:30-7:30 pm. This free special event marks the start of the winter season and has become a lauded community tradition. At sunset, Green Lake is transformed with 2.8 miles of luminaries into a radiant, sparkling oasis. On any given year, up to 20,000 visitors descend on Green Lake for this festive and much beloved celebration. The Green Lake Advisory Council will enhance this year's event with a hot air balloon "night glow" on the playfields at Green Lake Community.

Pelican Tea Garden Collective P-Patch

The Pelican Tea Garden Collective P-Patch will engage gardeners and community members to plan, and organize the purchase, assembly, and placement of a outdoor storage container,plants, compost bin,community table and seating area at the Pelican Tea P-Patch garden located on 1909 E Roy St. during Winter 2019 and Spring 2020.

Friends of Woodland Park Avenue

Phase 1 of Woodland Park Ave N Traffic Calming Project will seek a solution for the increasing speeding problem on the stretch of Woodland Park Ave N between 42nd and 43rd streets. The anticipated project close out date is February 28, 2023.

Interbay P-Patch Community Garden

This is Phase 2 of the Universal Accessibility Inclusive Garden beds - phase 1 was to build the foundation and lay the gravel. Phase 2 is to purchase the troughs to be used as raised beds and fill them with the soil that was removed from the plots. Additionally, an edge will be done around the plot.

Dr. Jose Rizal Park Restoration Project

Philippines Lantern Holiday Festival will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Dr. Jose Rizal Park, located at 1007 12th Ave S Seattle WA 98144. The event will promote and preserve the Philippine holiday tradition by showcasing and sharing traditional lanterns, treats, arts, and culture.

Kids and Paper

Kids & Paper will introduce Pickleball, Washington's Official State Sport, to low-income, BIPOC kids aged 5 to 12 in Seattle. Playing both indoors and outdoors year-round, we will work with community partners to reduce health disparities and strengthen our participants' academic and social/emotional skills.

Seattle Metro Pickleball Association

Seattle Metro Pickleball Association (SMPA) will purchase and install mobile pickleball nets for free use at the Green Lake (7201 E Green Lake Dr N) and Miller (300 19th Ave E) shared-use pickleball/tennis courts. SMPA will work on community outreach to let the public know about this new accessible opportunity to play pickleball. SMPA will also organize pickleball events free and open to all at both parks later this summer or early fall.

Friends and Neighbors of Mt Zion Baptist Church

The Friends and Neighbors of Mt Zion Baptist Church community group are coordinating the planting of eight Akebono Cherry trees and landscape with bushes the planting strip located at 1634 19th Ave. The event is free and open to public participation. The project will be completed by the end of August 2022.

Grants to port areas for maritime security risk management, training, exercises, and equipment to protect critical port infrastructure.

Renaissance 21

Project L.I.T. by Star Tech Global Academy will engage youth in multimedia art projects that uplift community spaces and connect with community leaders. This free project will be in hybrid format with both virtual and in-person participation in 3 Teen Centers across Seattle: Garfield, Rainier Beach, and Southwest Teen Life Center. Community members will be recruited as project staff to guide teens through workshops that teach leadership, community building, and multimedia design skills. Hands-on workshops will connect youth with role models and spotlight their work to improve community spaces and motivate to Lead, Inspire, and Transform (L.I.T.).

The Swish Program Steering Committee

SWISH (Serving With Integrity and Shooting Hoops) Is a pilot program created to serve African American young men through basketball & mentorship. This 14 week program for 30 youth will include basketball skills training, and educational workshops. The culminating event will be a 'Shots for Hope' tournament for the entire community. The program will operate Monday through Wednesday from 1-4pm at Cleveland High School, 5511 - 15th Avenue South.

Cal Anderson Park Alliance

This public life study will gather and analyze data in support of developing a shared community vision for public space within the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict. This project is the first phase of a larger enterprise that will see the creation of a public realm plan for the Capitol Hill neighborhood. This phase of the project will be completed by January 31, 2020.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

The Puget Sound Coastal Program is part of the USFWS’s National Coastal Program and was established to protect, restore, and enhance the natural resources of Washington’s coastal ecosystems.  The Coastal program works closely with partners to conserve fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats in Puget Sound, an “estuary of national significance.”
