Invest in the wisdom and work of local cultural experts with racial and foster-adoption lived experience—uniquely combined with literary or illustrating expertise—to build and promote a culturally vibrant library collection that intentionally embraces the rich diversity of children of color in state care; supports their unique foster-adopt journey; solidifies racial and cultural identity; buffers against trauma; and bolsters child wellbeing.
