About This Grant

This project will utilize open source software to provide a centralized streaming media service that will allow students, faculty, and other patrons to remotely access sound recordings, musical scores, videos, poetry, performances, oral histories, and other media.  In accordance with the Association of Research Libraries Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Academic and Research Libraries, and the Music Library Association’s Statement on Copyright Law and Fair Use in Music, digitization efforts will focus on course reserves, public domain materials, and materials in need of preservation.  The use of cloud-based computing allows this service to serve multiple institutions in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.
