About This Grant

This project will digitize, preserve, and provide centralized online access to 900 oral histories owned by a dozen different cultural institutions in Washington County. These histories record unique memories of immigration, changing patterns of land use, economic transitions, war and politics. The project will also demonstrate how a large audio-visual collection in analog format can be digitized and preserved at a reasonable cost and in a sustainable manner.
