About This Grant

The FFFS is supported by the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant. Funds are allocated by the State to each local department of social services to support a range of services to address the needs of eligible low-income families consistent with local priorities. Employment services to help TANF-eligible families gain work readiness and job skills that will support workforce entry, job retention, and opportunities for future wage advancement are allowable services under FFFS.

  • FFFS-funded services are provided by local social services districts or their contracted providers to TANF-eligible recipients of Temporary Assistance (TA), and to individuals and families not in receipt of TA who meet TANF eligibility requirements including having income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
