Point-of-Care and Pharmacy-based Antiretroviral Drug Adherence Assays

NIMH - National Institute of Mental Health

About This Grant

The Contractor, High Throughput Biology Inc., aims to develop a novel quantitative, real-time, point-of-care multiplex immunoassay to monitor ART/PrEP medication adherence for multiple drugs. The immunoassay will be conducted using a portable device that can be manufactured at low cost and operated by personnel in HIV clinics. By providing results with sensitivity and accuracy comparable to those from more expensive and bulky LC-MS instruments, and as rapidly as lateral flow assays, this technology could improve ART/PrEP medication adherence and enhance the health of HIV patients and individuals at risk of HIV infection.
