NIA - National Institute on Aging
Abstract This supplement will expand the AD Knowledge Portal (adknowledgeportal.org) by incorporating data being generated by a high-value set of projects that are using complementary approaches to characterize how multiple environmental toxicants, such as heavy metals, air pollution, infection, pesticides, and other chemical exposures, affect the development of AD/ADRD. Three projects, encompassing 11 U01 grants, will be generating new multi-omic data from model systems (cell line, organoid, and mouse) and from tissues collected from established longitudinal human cohorts. Data types that will be generated and shared include epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, genetics, cytokine data, exposure biomarkers, and others. These data will be of high interest to the research community, as they will illuminate how common exposures may influence pathways to disease at the molecular level. We will support dissemination of these valuable research assets through the AD Knowledge Portal, which serves as an NIH designated repository to support the NIA’s strategic goal to propagate data sharing under FAIR principles and to promote open science.
