About This Grant
The proposed comprehensive protein stability platform will serve multiple major users in assessing the properties of protein systems associated with immunomodulation, post translational modification effects, general receptor-ligand interactions, phase separation and condensates, medicinal chemistry screening, and translational therapeutics development. The proposed instrument combines full-spectral fluorescence monitoring, with dynamic light scattering (DLS) and static light scattering (SLS) with plate reading, sealable optical plates for thermal cycling, and full automation and data reduction. This will expand the assessment of stability and component interactions by the six major users and others for the NIH supported basic and translational research at Einstein funded through four Institutes. In the long term, the new available platform is expected to improve and expand the tools available for ligand screening, optimization of targets for structural biology investigations (XRC, NMR, CEM), and investigation of quaternary, quinary, and phase structural features in a systematic and reproducible manner in multi-channel mode on a single instrument. The instrument will be housed in a core facility with skilled and experienced management.
