We aim to understand and exploit the modularity of these systems to expand their targeting range, simplify their composition, and reduce reliance on host factors. Through these efforts, our long-term goal is to create a next-generation genome editing toolkit that enables safe, precise, and programmable gene insertion for therapeutic and synthetic biology applications.
