About This Grant
RECOVERY ACT - Congress has legislated funds to the National Park Service (NPS) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). These funds are intended for preservation of the natural resources in the park through trail maintenance and repairs along trails within Mount Rainier National Park. SCA interns are provided to the park to gain hands on experience in the environmental field. The interns make up a crew of five including a crew leader who will assist NPS trail maintenance operations in the repairs of flood damaged trails. Crew will work for a period of three months. SCA will provide the interns the transportation, food,and personal gear such as pack, rain gear, boots, personal protective gear and equipment to perform the trail work. This award is for one crew of five to construct trails and complete trail repairs to the standards of the National Park Service. This crew will work approximately beginning July 13, 2009 for a period of three months.
