About This Grant

The OnSite Independent Film Screening Series is a free-of-cost, monthly series of film screenings and workshops that will be hosted at Mini Mart City Park from Feb-Nov, 2025. A roster of local community curators and partner organizations will facilitate 10 months of film programming centering diverse people, their communities, and the physical spaces that they identify with. Every month we will: (1) Offer one free-of-cost screening featuring 3-5 short films exploring narratives of land, belonging, history, industry, and environment. We will share food and drink with our guests and facilitate conversations between community members, artists, and local organizations about the themes in the films; and (2) Offer one free-of-cost community workshop on topics ranging from cinema history, to using cameras to make your own content, to film history. We will also provide resource guides and reading lists to help the community connect more deeply with filmmaking and local placemaking work.
