About This Grant
We’re creating the Roanoke Park Emergency Hub to help our Portage Bay neighbors prepare for and support one another during disasters. As part of Seattle’s Emergency Communication Hub Network, this project will install and equip a Hub box in Roanoke Park and launch a neighborhood-wide outreach effort to raise awareness, build connection, and grow community capacity. A printed mailing to every household—along with posters placed in high-visibility areas—will invite neighbors to join our contact list, share skills or concerns, and tell us how they prefer to receive information. Outreach will also help us identify barriers like mobility or language access and connect with residents who could assist in an emergency. This phase lays the foundation for free public events to be held in Spring/Summer 2026 and ongoing preparedness efforts. The anticipated project completion date is March 31, 2026.
