Laurelhurst Community Club
There are 14 large planting rounds in the grass medians on 43rd Ave NE between NE 45th Street and NE 38th Street (known as the Boulevard.) Neighbor volunteers hold work parties to clean up the medians by removing dead plants, weeding, trimming and covering with wood chips. We now want to buy and install plants to replace the ones that died because of age and being bullied by blackberries. We plan to source the plants, get the right soil and hire a landscaping company to help install the plants. SDOT irrigates the medians. The plants that remain on the 14 planting rounds are mostly rhododendrons.
