Gifts Of Hope

The Martin Luther King Jr Block watch would like to have an Annual Community Winter Celebration on December 15, 2019 at 4800 S Henderson St, the South-Shore PK-8 School. This event is designed to bring neighbors of different nationalities and religions together in the spirit of togetherness, community and support. The event hopes to work in community building and make a difference by supporting and uplifting one another. The celebration will be filled with inspirational speakers, giveaways, contests, music, food, games, and activities for all attending members. The event is free and open to the public.

The Gifts of Hope community organization will be hosting the 2022 Community Cultural Winterfest that will be held on December 11, 2022 at the Smilow Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club located at 4520 Martin Luther King Jr Way S. This event will benefit the community by bringing different nationalities and faiths together to celebrate African American Culture. The event is free and open to the public.

Gifts of Hope would like to host a Back To School Youth Awareness Event on August 20th, 2022 (Saturday 11am - 6pm) at the Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club. This outdoor event is designed to bring neighbors of different nationalities and religions together in the spirit of togetherness, community and awareness. The celebration will be filled with community resources, vendors, Covid Resources & Testing, Back to School Supplies, Food and Family Fun. The event is free and open to the public.

On June 11th,2022 from 11am to 5pm the Gifts of Hope community group will have The Juneteenth: Family Reunion Community Festival located at 4520 Martin Luther King Jr Way. The festival will celebrate the celebrate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. This event will provide an opportunity for South Seattle Community to come together, meet each other, establish friendships, to encourage neighbors to look after the neighborhood and to celebrate African American History. The event is free and open to the public.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Way Blockwatch will host the Genesee Park Summer Fest on the Fourth of July from 11am to 4pm at 4484 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. This event is designed to bring neighbors of different nationalities and faiths together within the surrounding area in a spirit of unity and oneness. There will be contests, food, games, crafting tables, neighborhood resource info, connections and promoting safety amongst neighbors. The Genesee Park Summer Fest event is open to all ages and is free.

Our Hope for Christmas Community Event, set to take place on December 15th, 2024, at the Smilow Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club, is a collaborative endeavor aimed at celebrating African American culture and fostering unity among individuals of diverse backgrounds. This inclusive and free event welcomes all members of the public, providing a platform for the South Seattle community to come together, plan, and execute a meaningful gathering that promotes inclusivity and neighborly connections. By engaging 500+ residents of different nationalities and faiths, the event seeks to create a sense of togetherness and shared celebration during the holiday season. Through proactive outreach efforts, we will ensure broad community involvement and participation in this enriching and unifying Hope for Christmas Community Event.
