Little Saigon 2030 Action Plan

The Friends of Little Saigon (FLS) in partnership with the Office of Planning and Community Development and the Community Leadership Committee will engage the community and develop a ten-year vision for Little Saigon. Three community wide meetings will be hosted to solicit feedback on the project process and deliverables, which include a comprehensive literature review of previous neighborhood plans; creation of a GIS map to steer private and public investment; and the development of design and use guidelines to inspire businesses and developers. The anticipated project completion date is June 30, 2022.

Little Saigon Decorative Crosswalks

The Friends of Little Saigon will lead a community process to design and install decorative crosswalks at a key Little Saigon intersection: S. Jackson Street and 12th Avenue S. Friends of Little Saigon will work closely with SDOT on design, and grant funds would be used for SDOT installation of the decorative crosswalks.

Saigon to Seattle - 50th Year Commemoration of the End of the Vietnam War

April 30, 2025, will mark 50 years since the end of the Vietnam War. To commemorate this date, FLS is dedicating our arts and culture program efforts towards collecting, preserving, and sharing the stories of Vietnamese refugees and their families through an oral history project titled `Saigon to Seattle.`

Vietnamese Language & Exploration Program
openFriends of Little Saigon
Friends of Little Saigon will create a pilot program for adults to explore Vietnamese language and culture. A series of workshops will be held at Hing Hay Coworks located at 409B Maynard Ave S. It will take place on Saturdays from 9 am - 12 pm beginning May 4, 2019 and ending July 6, 2019. The workshops will include language instruction, connecting to the local Vietnamese business community, and art.
