About This Grant

Funded through the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant, the ACCESS program provides individuals eligible for TANF-funded programs with case management and other support services needed to pursue career goals through higher education. ACCESS provides the following support to low-income individuals: tuition assistance; initial and ongoing assessment, case management, and counseling services; remediation and tutorial services; career counseling and job placement; and two-year career follow-up on graduates.

Eligibility

  • Services are provided to TANF-eligible recipients of Temporary Assistance (TA), and to individuals not in receipt of TA who meet TANF eligibility requirements including having income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level.
